We want to recognize and reward the best local and international short films via live audience viewings at Lanza's Cafe, one of the most popular coffee houses/cafes in the North Carolina Triangle area! We are home to three major Universities (The University of North Carolina, Duke and N.C. State), all with film and theater programs. In addition, many award-winning producers make their home in the Triangle area. Subsequently, if your work is selected, you will be seen by a healthy crowd made up of film students, film aficionados, writers, producers, actors and all around fans of the sport! And, if you are local or regional filmmaker, there will be opportunities to promote your craft, network with working filmmakers, and talk with industry professionals.
Our judges will select a minimum of six (and maximum of twelve) short films to fill a two-hour film block on a bi-monthly Saturday night, to insure a good crowd. There will be one audience choice Award. Determined by audience voting at the end of each series, with the award winner receiving a cash prize of $100!
Each screening will have an Audience Choice award of $100.
